HELD AUGUST 10 – 20th, this residency now entering its fourth annual year is led by George Kordis as a unique 10-day opportunity to immerse in learning iconography in-person from Dr. George Kordis on the island of Crete at the renowned  Orthodox Academy of Crete (OAC). The instruction will combine with several days of drawing in the Byzantine system and will then focus on painting an icon with the dry egg tempera technique. Along with the daily inspirational learning time, there are various excursions offered after the daily creative sessions to appreciate the Cretan history, food and culture, and to celebrate the Feast of the Dormition on August 15th at the adjacent Gonia Monastery. Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced levels. (Note: the tuition does not include the lodging or meals fee that is paid directly to the OAC in July).
